KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire 10/26/2022 INC#0278 - KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0278; 08:45AM; 6261 N Laurel Canyon Bl; ; #NorthHollywood; Over 100 LAFD firefighters battled the blaze at an abandoned restaurant (formerly the Lamplighter Family Restaurant) in defensive mode for two hours and five minutes. The building sustained heavy damage during an extended period of fire that weakened the structural integrity, causing a substantial collapse. Approximately eight other small fires in the same area (within the span of approximately an hour) are being investigated alongside this one by LAFD Arson Investigators, however there is currently no evidence connecting these fires. It is still early in the investigation, and Fire Investigators are working closely with LAPD to gather evidence and track all leads. One person of interest has been detained for questioning. Excavators are being brought in to assist with the overhaul of this building and RS3 continues to work on scene in areas that are excessively dangerous for personnel to enter. ; FS 89; Batt 14; Valley Bureau; Council District 2; AR1 AR10 AR22 AR33 BC10 BC11 BC12 BC14 BC5 CE83 CM40 CM42 E102 E239 E260 E261 E27 E278 E288 E289 E298 E35 E39 E60 E76 E77 E86 EA1 EM14 EM18 HE1 HR3 PI1 RA102 RA60 RA827 RA89 RI200 RS3 RT83 T39 T60 T61 T78 T88 T89 T98 UR27 UR88; CH8; 17 18; Nicholas Prange 10-26-22 09:15 AM

100 LAFD personnel were assigned to this greater alarm structure fire. The building suffered partial collapse which required a transition to a defensive attack mode. The LAFD's robot, known as RS3, was brought in alongside firefighters to directly attack flames that were inside the compromised structure. Two persons of interest are currently detained by LAPD and LAFD Arson Counter-Terrorism Section (ACTS). The fire is currently knocked down though smoke may be visible as RS3 and LAFD Heavy Equipment work to extinguish hotspots inside the structure. [verified]
