Firefighters are in the offensive mode with interior fire attack approximately 100' deep inside the structure still working to locate the fire (possible mezzanine). The truck companies on the roof have at least two ventilation holes cut with heavy fire coming from the holes. Update Structure Fire 03/22/2023 INC#0080 - Update Structure Fire; INC#0080; 01:58AM; 3011 S Main St; ; Historic South-Central; Due to the amount of fire in the structure and the difficulty reaching the seat of the fire (possible mezzanine which poses great risk with fire above the firefighters on interior attack), the incident commander directed a transition to a Defensive operation. All firefighters are exiting the building and coming off the roof to deploy large diameter, master streams (ladder pipes and 2 1/2" handlines). The fire unit is a total loss with most of the roof collapsed into the structure. Per protocol, LAFD Arson is on scene for the cause investigation.
