KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 05/29/2023 INC#1135 - KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1135; 06:28PM; 14735 W Bessemer St; ; #VanNuys; Firefighters arrived to find a one-story commercial building containing an upholstery shop and auto body shop with heavy fire inside. Firefighters mounted a coordinated attack on the fire on the ~8,500 sq-ft building. Firefighters overcame forcible entry challenges, both on the exterior and encountering additional security measures inside, to gain access for hose lines to advance, as other crews ascended ladders to the roof to provide vertical ventilation. Ultimately, it took 40 firefighters 23 minutes to extinguish the flames, which were initially spotted and reported by an LAPD helicopter. No reported injuries.
