Structure Fire - FATALITY 06/21/2023 INC#0012 - Structure Fire - FATALITY; INC#0012; 01:19AM; 11308 S Main St; ; Broadway-Manchester; FIRE NOW OUT: At 12:17AM, LAFD responded to a reported structure fire and found a one story (60' x 80') metal clad, commercial building with two autos in a carport to the rear, well involved in fire. Firefighters initiated a defensive operation and extinguished the fire in 38 minutes (83 firefighters on scene KD at 12:55AM). While conducting the primary search, they located an adult male inside the building who was sadly beyond medical help. Firefighter/Paramedics determined him deceased on scene. LAPD and LAFD Arson Section are responding for the investigation per protocol for a fatality. LA County Coroner will determine identity and cause of death. The building appeared to be filled with mattresses but it is unclear exactly what type of business was in operation.
