KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire 10/06/2023 INC#1179 - KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1179; 03:53PM; 531 N Soto St; ; #BoyleHeights; Firefighters responded to a 7,528 square-foot two-story apartment building built in 1926, to find fire in one unit and the attic. Crews coordinated occupant evacuations, while setting up for simultaneous vertical ventilation (cutting holes in the roof for smoke to escape) and interior fire attack. One pediatric female (approx 7 years old) was transported after being exposed to smoke inside the building. Ultimately, it took 58 firefighters 29 minutes to extinguish the flames, keeping it from spreading into adjacent units. No other injuries.
