KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 03/28/2024 INC#0423 - KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0423; 09:09AM; 1111 W 6th St; ; #Westlake; Firefighters responded to a vacant 41,840 square-foot four-story commercial structure built in 1967 to find smoke showing from the third floor (the site of a previous burn). Firefighters ascended ladders to the roof and balconies, and extended hose lines to the third floor via interior stairwells, despite thick smoke and hazards such as open elevator shafts. Crews discovered contents burning on the third floor and quickly extinguished the flames. Ultimately it took 36 firefighters 20 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. Crews will remain on scene to evacuate the heavy smoke from the building using blowers. No reported injuries.
