Forward Progress Stopped Brush Fire 08/19/2024 INC#1119 - Update Forward Progress Stopped Brush Fire; INC#1119; 03:39PM; 11800 N Laurel Canyon Bl; #Sylmar; Despite varied wind, well coordinated LAFD ground and air operations have stopped forward progress of the fire at 4.5 (four-and-one-half) acres of grass and light-to-medium brush east of and adjacent to the northbound Golden State (I-5) Freeway north of San Fernando Mission Boulevard. No injury. No structures involved. No evacuation. Laurel Canyon Boulevard will remain closed in the immediate area of the fire until LAFD operations are complete. No ETO. Travelers should avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route.
