Currently, LAFD Urban Search and Rescue and Heavy Rescue Units have made contact with the patient and are formulating a plan for extraction. Due to the limited access they are cutting rebar to widen a clear path for better access and patient removal. There are 40 LAFD firefighters assigned to this incident. No reported injuries. She made her way down to an opening leading into a tunnel and was unable to exit. Upon making contact with patient she did not report and injury or medical complaint. After Urban Search and Rescue cut rebar to widen a clear path for better access they managed to extract the patient from the location by hoisting her up with a harness and specialized equipment. There are 40 LAFD firefighters assigned to this incident. It is reported that the patient does not have any injuries nor a medical complaint. However, she is being transported for further evaluation to a local area hospital.
