The pet animal rescued from the burning townhome by LAFD responders is confirmed to be a feline. The cat was gently transferred to the care of the homeowner upon his arrival at the scene. No human injuries have been reported. The fire's cause remains under active investigation. [verified]

LAFD Firefighters took just 31 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire on the second, third floor and attic of a multi-story townhome (two living floors above one parking level). The flames were skillfully prevented from extending through walls into a pair of adjoining townhomes . One pet animal (yet undetermined species) was rescued alive from the burning townhome by LAFD responders, and is being medically evaluated/treated at scene by LAFD crews pending the arrival of L.A. Animal Services. No human injuries reported. Fire cause under active investigation. [verified]

With 83 LAFD Firefighters assigned, this incident has escalated to Greater Alarm status, as firefighters continue their fierce offensive on the fire, which has been skillfully prevented from extending into either of the adjoining townhomes that share walls with the involved multi-story unit (three stories = two living floors above one parking level of each towhome). The fire has involved both living (second and third) floors in the involved unit, with flames through the roof. One pet animal has been rescued from the burning townhome, and is being medically evaluated/treated by firefighters at this time. [verified]
